Emergency Assistance, when your earning parent dies or falls critically ill
When your earning parent has died, or has been diagnosed with a critical illness, in the middle of your course, the fees you could manage last month can suddenly feel impossible. Emergency Assistance is one-time help for exactly that moment — for a girl already in college, within 180 days of the loss or diagnosis — so that you can stay in your seat.
Our programmes
Eight pathways for every need
The Vedicology Foundation Emergency Assistance is a one-time payment for a girl who is already in college when her earning parent has died, or has been diagnosed with a critical illness, within the past 180 days. You need 70% or above in Class 12 (for a UG course) or 60% or above in graduation (for a PG course). It is for girls already enrolled across Tamil Nadu and Kerala, each girl can receive it once, and we pay it directly to your college. If this has happened in your family, talk to us today.
We support girls and women aged 18 and above. We do not fund minors.

What Emergency Assistance is
Emergency Assistance is a one-time payment for a girl who is already enrolled when her earning parent dies, or is diagnosed with a critical illness. It is not for any sudden difficulty in general — only these two situations, within the past 180 days. It is not an ongoing arrangement, is given once per student, and is paid directly to your college — you never handle the money. If you later reach the Merit Scholarship marks — 75% for full orphans, or 85% (UG) / 80% (PG) for all other categories — you can convert to the renewable Merit Scholarship.
You can apply within 180 days of the death or diagnosis, through our normal application process. We confirm every application within 10 to 15 working days.

When it is meant for you
You can apply if either of these has happened within the past 180 days, while you are enrolled:
Your earning parent has died within the past 180 days
Your earning parent has been diagnosed with a critical illness within the past 180 days
You will also need:
- 70% or above in Class 12 — if you are applying for an undergraduate (UG) course
- 60% or above in graduation — if you are applying for a postgraduate (PG) course
- You are currently enrolled in college
- You are a girl or woman aged 18 or above, in Tamil Nadu or Kerala
Reach out as early as you can — the 180 days are counted from the date of the death or the diagnosis.
Along with the usual application documents, you will need one extra paper: your parent’s death certificate, or the treating doctor’s medical certificate with current medical records. If a paper is hard to get, tell us — a missing document is never a reason not to ask.
All our marks requirements are in the Marks Eligibility table.
Which one fits?
Emergency Assistance
Your earning parent has died or been diagnosed with a critical illness in the last 180 days, and you have 70% (UG) or 60% (PG).
Education Continuity Grant
Your fees have become unaffordable for another reason, and you have 75% (UG) or 70% (PG). It covers 50% to 75% of your tuition fee for one year, paid to your college.
Either way, reaching the Merit Scholarship marks lets you convert to the renewable Merit Scholarship.
