Where we work

Why give here

Level a field that was never level to begin with

When you donate to Vedicology Foundation, you fund the college, professional, and vocational education of an adolescent girl or young woman aged 18 and above. We are a registered Section 8 non-profit working across Tamil Nadu and Kerala. We hold 80G registration, so your gift is eligible for a 50% tax deduction under Section 80G. Every rupee goes directly to an educational institution on a student's behalf. We never give cash to students or their families.

Picture a girl who has grown up in a children's home. She has no parents to turn to, and the day she turns eighteen, the home she has always known is no longer hers to stay in. She is bright. She has earned a place at college. And she is standing at the gate with nowhere to go and no one to pay her fees.

She is one of the young women your gift reaches. So are the daughters of single mothers who cannot stretch a wage far enough, and girls from families already in difficulty who are the first of their family to reach college. When you give here, you are not handing out charity. You are levelling a playing field that was never level to begin with — and carrying a young woman the rest of the way.

Why it matters

Often, your gift is the one thing standing between a young woman and the chance to finish.

Your gift joins work already underway

We have been doing this since 2024. Your gift is not a leap of faith — it joins work that is already happening, already accountable.

Paid directly to institutions

In our first two years, your fellow donors have helped us go a long way. We have supported 374 young women, awarded 551 scholarships, and partnered with 29 institutions across Tamil Nadu and Kerala — paying ₹89,92,000 directly to those institutions, never as cash to a student or her family. That gap between 374 women and 551 scholarships is the point. We renew a young woman's funding year after year, so she can finish what she started. Direct Payment

Where your money goes

Every rupee you donate goes directly to an educational institution on behalf of a student. We do not give cash to students or families.

Vedicology Foundation

We verify and pay on her behalf

Step 2

Step 3
Never as cash to a student or her family!

We pay tuition, hostel, exam, coaching, and vocational training fees directly to verified institutions.

This is the heart of how Vedicology Foundation works, and it is the reason donors trust us. The money you give does not pass through a student's hands or a family's. It does not sit in an account waiting. It reaches the college, the training centre, or the exam body the young woman needs — paid in full, on her behalf.

Why we pay institutions, not students

There is a reason for this beyond accounting. A young woman is never handed cash and asked to account for it. Her fees are simply paid, the way any other student's family would pay them. And she gets on with her studies.

The same design that reassures you as a donor is what protects her dignity.

100% transparent payment process

How much of her education we fund

We carry most of the cost ourselves — up to 75% of what a young woman's education needs. Her family contributes the rest, alongside us. The precise share sits between 50% and 75%, set to what each family can manage.

There is one exception. Some young women grew up in a children's home with no family to return to. For a care leaver like this, we carry the entire cost — 100% of her tuition, hostel, and exam fees.

Read more about our thinking on this in How We Work, and see the payment journey step by step in How Direct Payment Works.

Can a Non-Resident Indian donate?

In many cases, yes. A Non-Resident Indian who still holds Indian citizenship can give from their own funds through normal banking channels, such as an NRO account. Under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, a gift made this way is not treated as a foreign contribution, so we are able to accept it with thanks.

Some gifts the Act does treat as foreign contribution — those from foreign nationals, or from people of Indian origin who have taken foreign citizenship, such as OCI and PIO card holders. To receive those, an organisation needs FCRA registration. That becomes available once an organisation has completed three full years of work. We look forward to applying as soon as we reach that milestone, so that we can welcome those gifts too.

If you are not sure which route applies to you, do write to us — we will be glad to guide you.

Who you support

Who your gift supports

Your donation supports adolescent girls and young women aged 18 and above — never minors. They are young women with the marks and the merit to go further. What holds them back is only the circumstances of their lives: orphaned, raised by a single parent, or from a family already in difficulty.

We work entirely within Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The young women your gift reaches are studying for degrees, training for professions, and learning the skills that let them stand on their own feet. Often, your gift is the one thing standing between them and the chance to finish.
